The Tilt-Up Construction method was first introduced
in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean by Aireko Enterprises during the
mid-80’s. In
1986, this innovative solution sped up the completion of the Mates
National Guard Building in Salinas, PR.
Today, Aireko continues utilizing this proven method along with
precast concrete building, to guarantee speed, safety and lower
construction costs to those clients that request cost-effective
solutions.
What is Tilt-up construction?
Tilt-up construction is a method by which the building's walls
are poured directly at the jobsite in large slabs of concrete called "panels".
These panels are then raised into position around the building's
perimeter forming the exterior walls. Tilt-up construction allows
general contractors to build a wide range of commercial buildings
more quickly and with lower construction costs than what is typical
for traditional masonry construction projects (definition provided
by www.tiltupnews.com).
